2022 Tassie Toastie Contest

The 2022 Tassie Toastie Contest was held last week and competition was fierce!
Judges Lyn Laycock (founder of Devonport Food & Wine) and Richard Bennett (Ashgrove's Master Cheesemaker) tasted their way through a suite of cheesy toastie creations, eventually naming Father/Daughter team Neil and Erin as the 2022 Tassie Toasties Champions!
Neil and Erin presented the judges with their Rubicon Red Reuben, featuring Ashgrove Signature Rubicon Red Leicester and Musselroe Bay Rubicon Red alongside pastrami, onion relish, sauerkraut and classic dressing all on rye, finished with Ashgrove butter 🤤
The judges commented on the balanced flavours of the toastie, the quality of the sides and the fabulous presentation of the toasted sandwich.
A special mention was also awarded to Bentley (aged 10) and Fletcher (aged 5) for their creative entry of Cheesy Cheese in Iceberg Cups - be sure to keep and eye on these two creative, boundary pushing toastie aficionados in the future!
