Strikers kick fundraising goals!

Valley Road turned pink throughout Saturday as the Devonport Strikers held their annual Pink Day. The club's Women's Super League and NPL Tasmania teams both took to the pitch against Kingborough in special pink playing tops, with our women turning it on in a 5-2 over the Lions, while the ladder-leading men had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

The Striker's were cheered on from the sideline by Ashgrove Chair Paul Bennett, and his wife Bernadette who relished in the opportunity to be decked out in pink for such a great cause.

After the game, attention turned to the clubrooms for the Dress to Impress function, where the senior players and their partners went all out to look pretty in pink. In total 103 attendees enjoyed a fantastic night, with live music from Ali Rose and Fabian, a fashion parade from the best dressed males and females on the night, and plenty of prizes on offer.

All up the day and night raised a whopping $5522 of vital funds for the McGrath Foundation to help support Breast Care Nurses around the country.

Ashgrove is a proud sponsor of the Devonport Strikers and McGrath Foundation. Congratulations to everyone involved in Pink day for making the event such a success 👏🏼
