Croque Monsieur

Our take on this French café classic uses proper ham off the bone, sourdough bread, a creamy béchamel, and a trio of Ashgrove favourites: Signature Vintage Cheddar, Farmhouse Butter, and Parmesan.

Ingredients:

Sourdough bread
Ham off the bone
Ashgrove Signature Vintage Cheddar
Ashgrove Farmhouse Butter
Béchamel sauce (butter, flour, milk)
Ashgrove Parmesan (shaved)

Method:
1. Butter the outside of each slice with Ashgrove Farmhouse Butter. Spread a generous layer of béchamel on the inside.

2. Layer with sliced ham and plenty of Vintage Cheddar between the béchamel sides.

3. Sprinkle shaved Ashgrove Parmesan on top and bake in a hot oven until the bread is golden and the cheese is ooozing.

Serve hot, with a side of smug satisfaction. 😉
